ProFlight Brief is edited by Nicholas Chilcott, a working helicopter pilot based in Dallas–Fort Worth. He has time in the R22, R44, R66, Bell 407, Bell 429, H130, H145 and AStar, and he's a husband and father who knows what a rotation schedule does to family life.

Why it exists

Pilot media mostly serves aircraft owners and student pilots. Working pros need something shorter: what's paying, what changed in the regs, what the latest accident teaches, and how to keep life together on a shift schedule.

How it's made

AI tools help gather primary sources (NTSB reports, the Federal Register, FAA publications, public job postings) and draft summaries. A pilot reviews every issue before it's sent. Every figure links to its source. If we get something wrong, we correct it publicly in the next issue.
